As a Cyber Security Engineer for Socura, you will provide primarily remote (but occasionally onsite) deployment, configuration, and support expertise relating to Socura’s solutions. You will interact directly with our customer's teams providing technical leadership, delivery, and enablement.
This is a highly technical, hands-on role, and you will develop and maintain expert level skills on the products and solutions deployed within our customer's environments.
Whilst experience with the company’s security platforms of choice is desired, even more important is having a solid, broad foundation in scripting, operating systems, networking, and security technologies.
Responsibilities
- Initial configuration and deployment of Socura security solutions
- Migration of customers from existing technologies to Socura solutions
- Provide out of hours support when necessary to support cutovers & maintenance
- Analyse logs from the solution for troubleshooting and issue identification
- Work with our partner’s technical support teams on support cases
- Ensure client needs are met and deliverables produced on time according to specified project deliverables and scope
- Create technical documentation, including diagrams, in support of engagements
Mandatory Requirements
- Location & Clearance: Candidates must be based in the UK and either hold active UK Security Check (SC) clearance or be eligible to obtain SC clearance. Eligibility typically requires a minimum of five years' continuous UK residency (subject to UKSV requirements). We are unable to consider applicants who do not meet these requirements.
- Vendor Platform Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ current engineering experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining at least two of the following platform stacks:
o Palo Alto: XSOAR, XDR, or XSIAM
o Palo Alto: Prisma Access, Strata Cloud Manager, IoTSecurity, and NGFWs
o Google SecOps: SIEM & SOAR
o Microsoft Unified SecOps: Defender & Sentinel
Skills and Qualifications
- Experienced in deployment & support of cloud, network, and security technologies
- Experienced in Python scripting (code creation & debugging)
- Solid understanding of Windows, Linux and MacOS operating systems
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
- Solid understanding of identity technologies such as Entra ID
- MSSP / MDR experience highly beneficial
- SOAR deployment & support experience highly beneficial
- SIEM deployment & support experience highly beneficial
- Google Cloud and Azure experience highly beneficial
- AWS experience beneficial
- Security Operations experience beneficial
- Effectively able to handle multiple projects and work calmly under pressure
- Excellent written English, with strong verbal and social skills
- Able to communicate concepts clearly with technical and non-technical clients
