Socura has been Successfully Assessed Against the NHS’s Data Security and Protection Toolkit

What is the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT)?

Launched in April 2018, the DSPT is a self-assessment tool that allows organisations to monitor their performance against the National Data Guardian’s 10 data security standards.

Why the DSPT?

NHS patient data and systems need to be protected, and it’s extremely important that the NHS drives high compliance against these standards.

To provide assurance that they are practising good data security and that personal information is handled correctly, the DSPT must be completed by any:

  • health and care organisation which shares access to patient data
  • organisation that accesses NHS Digital systems, such as NHSmail or the Spine
  • organisations that provide services under a standard NHS contract

What does this mean for Socura?

Socura’s Threat Detection and Response managed service is designed to help organisations protect their data and is committed to providing the highest standards in data security. That’s why we made the decision to self-assess against the DSPT alongside our other data security accreditations (ISO 27001 & Cyber Essentials Plus).

We are delighted to be self-assessed to the ‘Standards Exceeded’ level, as shown here. For more details on how Socura can support your NHS cyber security needs, please get in touch.
