Digital transformation is fundamentally redefining how the UK public sector operates and delivers essential services. On June 9 & 10, Socura is looking forward to joining leaders from across UK councils at the Socitm President’s Conference 2026 to learn about the latest projects and the real-world impact they are having. This year’s conference is particularly special as Socitm celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Since cyber security and digital transformation go hand-in-hand, the Socura team will be exhibiting at the event, sharing the work we are doing to strengthen the resilience of services across the sector.

The CymruSOC journey
On Day One at 14:15, Nigel Howarth (our Head of Partnerships and Alliances) will be in conversation with Ryan James (CISO at Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council). Together, they will discuss key learnings from CymruSOC, the UK’s first national security operations centre.
For councils interested in improving their collective defence against threats, this session provides a great opportunity to learn about:
- The benefits of a 'defend-as-one' approach
- Strategies to overcome resource challenges
- Building a business case for an outsourced SOC
